When I asked if they could get the responses we paid for they turned it over to another panel that filled in an hour and was nearly all terrible responses, filled in at random. That means we should have gotten ~200 responses for 18-29-year-olds. This was for a "full balanced census" for age demographics. We're a mid-level start-up and launched a $3500 survey using survey monkey's panel.

Please don't let the majority of these reviews sway you, most of these are people jumping the gun and not doing their research first. But it is expensive no matter how you look at it.

To conclude, SurveyMonkey offers a fantastic survey-building product that looks fantastic and makes surveys easily shareable, plus also provides great analytics tools. The cheapest option for me is £900 per year which for me, is a little rich for a service I might use a few times a year. I require a team package as I need several HR members of staff to see results. It is very expensive and that is my main reason for only giving it 3 stars. Some key features that are very useful for building specific surveys are paid services, (for example text boxes).

Free accounts are limited to 10 survey results per survey. Here are the facts that clearly everyone here didn't bother to check. Their layout options are fantastic, surveys are easy to create and look great plus the feedback analytic tools are brilliant. I'm on the lookout for a survey tool for my business and came across SurveyMonkey. I'm just here to respond on SurveyMonkey's behalf as a lot of the negative reviews here are down to people not doing their research first. SurveyMonkey is fantastic, but expensive.

All the functionality you need can be had for free in google forms or a number of similar competitors. Obviously won't be making the mistake of using this service again. Haven't used surveymonkey for over 10 years and unsurprisingly, I can't remember the last time I received a surveymonkey query as a customer. Rather than focussing on screwing one-time customers, maybe offer transparent pricing up front and let users make an informed choice.
I guess the hope is you pay a one-off embarrassment tax to get your results and then never use the service again. The absolute minimum you have to pay to release your data held hostage is £300 !! As for everyone else leaving feedback, you only find out about this less than transparent business model after you've sent out a survey to your customers. When you look at costs to pay, you're dropped into team plans which of course are more expensive than individual plan prices.
No ability to export raw data unless you pay. This echoes every other reviewer who's suffered a one-off experience with surveymonkey No obvious warning that surveymonkey will only collect the details for 10 responses and then hold subsequent results hostage. I guess you don't really need to read the review. Ripoff pricing that isn't transparent to the user.
